What Is CEREC?
CEREC is a treatment process that allows our dentist to design, mill, and cement a new dental crown in just one appointment at our office. That means, if you chip a tooth in the morning and we have emergency appointments available, you can once again have a complete smile by dinner.
Unlike the traditional dental crown process, CEREC treatment means you won’t have to wait weeks in an uncomfortable temporary while a dental lab creates your restoration. Instead, our in-house CEREC milling machine efficiently completes this entire process as you sit comfortably in the dentist’s chair!
Our CEREC Treatment Process
If you recently chipped a tooth or had an old crown pop off, you’re a great candidate for CEREC same-day restorations. At your appointment, we’ll first alter your tooth so that your new dental crown will fit without appearing unnatural and bulky. Then we’ll take digital impressions of this tooth that are uploaded into our design software.
Next, we’ll digitally design your new dental crown for a precise and aesthetic fit before sending this design to our in-house CEREC milling unit. This machine will custom fabricate your restoration from a block of porcelain in under 30 minutes. Then, we’ll color match the crown to your teeth and polish it, so it looks and feels natural. When your dental crown is cemented in place, your appointment is done!
